The Zheng Jiang sequence moves from plant instinct and civilisation to consciousness, metabolism, purpose, absence and the continuity of a ship. Its central operation is comparison across scales: plant and human, body and mission, designed algorithm and everyday anomaly. Identity is repeatedly displaced from stable substance toward relation, direction and the capacity to respond.

The consciousness and ship records shift continuity away from unchanged matter. A destination, mission or organised relation may persist while the material bearer changes, but purpose itself must still be examined rather than treated as proof.
