Five public records connect finite technique, concentrated time, cultural centres, unreadable calligraphy and the cracks of thought. The Qiu Zhizhong sequence proposes that entering tradition deeply is not the opposite of invention; it is a condition for reaching the point where inherited rules become unstable. This paper argues that unreadability can operate as a research method when it redirects attention from semantic recognition toward gesture, spacing, pressure and duration—provided opacity is not automatically mistaken for depth.
